Description:

This standard (SCS-115) is applicable to organizations that wish to make verified claims regarding carbon intensity and reductions of chemical materials and co-products. It provides a methodology to calculate the carbon intensity and, where applicable, verify reductions achieved through recognized decarbonization levers, including:

Renewable Electricity (Module A)
Biofeedstock and Recycled Content (Module B)
Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (Module C)
Renewable Energy (Module D)
Asset Efficiency Improvement ( Module E)

Certification against this standard requires organizations to accurately calculate and substantiate carbon intensity claims using established methodologies. Certification supports the production and use of lower-carbon chemicals and contributes to greenhouse gas reduction efforts across the value chain.

Assurance System:

Conformance with SCS-115 requirements is assessed through annual audits conducted by SCS Global Services, a qualified and independent third party. Audits are conducted according to scheme-specific and relevant international standards.
